Furthermore, these archetypal symbols of aggression and submission address the hierarchy of japanese colonization and contemporary Korean identity. Situated in Hongdae, the center of Seoul’s fashion and nightlife, the neighborhood is the confluence of traditional korean culture and American influence.”
