For its tenth birthday weekend just gone, Tate Modern staged No Soul For Sale, a non-profit ‘Festival of Independents’, bringing 70 artists’ collectives, publishers and non-commercial spaces from all over the world to fill its Turbine Hall. Well, perhaps ‘inviting’ would be a more accurate word …

Shit We’re Diggin: Mister12Gage’s Paste Your Face Project in Portland
by on May 18, 2010 in Wooster Collective

“I’ve always thought it was strange to see large images of celebrities, models and news anchors on walls, billboards, and buses. I’ve wondered why these people are adorning our walls and public spaces instead of the individuals that make up our community. This project serves as a physical representation of the city of Portland through drawings of it’s inhabitants.
Everyone pictured is completely unknowing and chosen at random. Whether your reaction is positive or negative, please let me know by clicking the “Submit” button at the top of the page or emailing me at pasteyoface@gmail.com. I’d like to hear your initial reaction, as well as what you think now that you know what this is all about.
I’m sorry or you’re welcome, depending on how you feel about this.”… Mister12Gage

Electric Puha

Pop Hit – Electric Puha from Department of Development on Vimeo.
From Paul –
“years ago we found some old 16mm reals on a flee market in AMST. stuffed in a blank wrapper, so we did not know where it came from. when played from a 16mm projector we discovered fascinating 70′s skateboard stuff. we digitalised the reels and started vj-ing with it during our dj/vj events. also re-edited it on one of our tracks of ‘our’ Electric Puha Sound System. (mid 2000′s).
(oh and maybe by chance you know which crew actually filmed this in the 70′s?)”
