Seen In The Navajo Indian Reservation
by on February 13, 2010 in Wooster Collective

From Maura:
“I love your blog. I have been taking photos of the street graffiti around Denver, Colorado for a year or so..mostly in my alleys around my house. I recently took a road trip home to Flagstaff, Arizona and drove through my old stomping grounds, the Navajo Indian reservation and saw these amazing wheat paste pieces on some water tanks in Grey Mountain, an all but abandoned gas station and hotel stop between Tuba City and Flagstaff. I love that they are traditional icons..the gramma and grampa herding the sheep, with the ominous coyote hidden around the corner. Good stuff. I had no idea there was a street art culture on the reservation. Hope you like the images”
Catchin’ Up With Mr. Prvrt
by on February 13, 2010 in Wooster Collective

From Mr Prvrt:
“This is my part of a group installation with the newly formed Rochester NY-based collective Sweet Meat Co. What is pictured here is built entirely using salvaged objects, including the lighting and functional speakers. The entire installation took six people just over one month to complete. The work pictured here is my own, but more pictures from the show can be found here“

Rand and McNally Dreaming
by admin on February 13, 2010 in Art & Perception
The dreamings of the Australian aboriginines represent a kind of art that goes to the core of their identities. To the extent that that represents any kind of an accurate description, allow me to state that these images are at something of an opposite extreme in that they play around …
