I was at the Met tonight to see Velázquez Rediscovered which is on from November 17, 2009–February 7, 2010.
Nice painting but I’m having a problem with major exhibitions based around one painting.
I understand Muesums are strapped for cash – but can’t they do better than this?

Fresh new work from Shok-1 in Borough, South London (just by the Tube station). Money, Fame and Power looming ominously over the streets.

Shok-1, Money

Shok-1 Fame

Shok-1 Power
On a nearby wall there’s further work from Shok-1 in another twist on his negative / biological style

“I wanted to show the excitement I get out of things like riding bikes with friends,” says UPSO. “When life gets too crazy or stressful, it’s things like friends and fun that get me out of my funk. It doesn’t matter if it’s paintbrushes or snowboarding, it’s all about expressing yourself. I’ve always been amazed by the support action sports gives art, from skateboards to t-shirt designs and shoes, it all comes full circle.”
