London Police show
by on April 21, 2009 in Art Of The State Blog
Yesterday I finally managed to make it over to see the London Police show at Stolen Space. It’s one I’ve been looking forward to ever since it was announced as TLP were once prolific on these streets and it’s about time they had a London gallery show of their work. They’ve produced a stunning set of canvases all painstakingly hand drawn in indelible ink. The results are, in my opinion, incredible in their complexity and their obvious talent. I liked the small details which only become apparent on closer inspection such as the inclusion of self portraits on one canvas and setting the time on Big Ben to include 20 12. The show finishes soon so if the pictures below whet your appetite get there while you can. If you can’t make it you can also see a very nicely shot complete set of pictures from the show on Wallkandy’s Flickr stream.

Mistakes Happen…
by on April 21, 2009 in Wooster Collective
Having now done a few books of our own, we learned early on that no matter how hard you try to get things perfect, mistakes happen.
Herbert Baglione has been working with Upper Playground on a book of his work, and two images in the book are mistakenly attributed to Herbert alone when in fact they were made as a collaboration with the artist Kboco.
So to both Herbert, Kboco, and Upper Playground – Congratulations! We can’t wait to see the full book

Post Your Openings and Exhibitions on Our Facebook Page
by on April 21, 2009 in Wooster Collective
One thing that we’ve struggled with over the years is how to manage all of the emails we receive each day about upcoming shows and exhibitions.
We try to highlight a few each week, but the reality is that if we post all of them it would take up all of our time and the Wooster site would be one massive upcoming events page. But at the same time, we really want to support these shows as most of them are terrific. We want to help get the word out. The struggle has been in how to do it.
If you’ve been following us on Facebook, then you know we’ve tried to use Facebook as a companion to the Wooster site. We’re using Facebook to do things on that we can’t do well here.
So starting this week, on every Monday we’re asking the question on our Facebook page:
Are there any good art openings this week? What are you looking forward to seeing? (post a link)
So if you’re a gallerist or artist looking to get the word out about an opening, we encourage you become a fan of the Wooster Collective Facebook page and post your shows and events as a response to our question.
You can find the Wooster Collective page by clicking here.
